The Presbytery of New Covenant has adopted a new vision for 2010:
Growing congregations that passionately engage their community to make disciples. This forum is a place to begin the conversation and learning that will help our pastors, church staff, and other congregational leaders understand the three major components to this vision:
- congregational growth
- community engagement
- disciple-making
We, the staff and leadership of the presbytery, will post our thoughts, questions, and learnings here. We welcome comments, questions, and concerns. We encourage you to tell stories of how your congregation is living into the vision as well as share ideas with other church leaders. We will also post announcements of events that are happening that relate to the vision.

I'm looking forward to the May Presbytery meeting at MDPC. I've heard it is going to focus on the six marks of discipleship. And furthermore everyone who can, commissioner or not, is encouraged to attend and learn more about discipleship and Vision 2010. Sounds exciting!
Thanks Garry! Mary is getting ready to post a little more about the May meeting ... it will definitely be worth your time to attend. AND we do hope that many more than commissioners will attend the meeting.
I attended that meeting and felt truly blessed by Mary's remarks. I have discussed being an ABC church with the Session of Trinity Church and we are planning to move away from that model once we have returned to our renovated facilities. I am encouraging the leaders to lay the foundation for making that happen and they are responding in a positive way.
